Buddy Break is a free respite program designed to give caregivers of children with special needs a break from their overwhelming responsibilities. Once a month for three hours, Buddy Break volunteers, also known as Buddies, are paired up with a VIP child for one-on-one love and attention. Buddy Break in Wilson County is a pilot program based on the original Nathaniel’s Hope program in Florida.
A Work of Life desires to provide more respite care services for caregivers of children with special needs and is currently
in the process of establishing our first respite residence. This permanent residence will provide parents and caregivers of special needs children an extended respite experience (i.e. for vacation, sleep, or business trips) while providing a safe, nurturing environment for their child while they are away.
